The Classic Lace-Up Style

The Oxford shoe is the most elegant and classic shoe design available.

Some believe that the Oxford style was developed by students of the famous university during the early 19th century, whilst others believe that this shoe design has its roots in celtic cultures – in fact Oxfords are sometimes referred to as “balmorals” – a nod to Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Distinctive Features

The main feature of an Oxford shoe is found within it’s “closed-lacing” method – the eyelets are sewn directly onto the rear quarters which are sewn together at the bottom. This makes the Oxford shoe snug fitting and formal in appearance.

Our range of Oxfords have a toe-cap and are also known as cap-toe Oxfords. The toe-cap can be completely plain or adorned with decorative punching, known as a medallion.

Range of Materials

We can make your Oxford shoes in a huge range of materials. Everything from leathers and suedes through to genuine ostrich skin!

Endless Design Options

Our large range of materials allows great scope for designing a pair of custom Oxford shoes.

Plain leather can be mixed with a grained leather to provide a subtle contrast as seen on our Steerforth goodyear welted oxford or perhaps a bolder contrast is required as found on the flannel and leather Dombey model.

All designs can be fully customised by you simply by choosing the “customise & order” option.

Have fun experimenting with each design until you have created a bespoke design to be proud of!
